Frequently Asked Questions
How do I enroll?
Each Spring we have two major enrolling days: an early option for returning families and an open enrollment day for new families. To join our group, you must submit the following:
- Family Registration Form (along with building/admin fees)
- Signed Statement of Faith
- Signed Church Building Waiver Form
- Signed Family Handbook Form
- Class Sign-up Forms (to be submitted to your teacher)
If we missed the Open Enrollment Day can we still join?
Yes! We accept late enrollees up until the first week of classes. However, please note late registrations are subject to a higher enrolling fee and may miss out on popular classes. So it’s best to join early!
What is the cost?
The Family Registration Fee is a one-time a year cost that covers your entire family. For families that enroll at Open Enrollment, the cost is only $75. After that date, it increases.
- May Late Enrollment Cost = $100
- June Late Enrollment Cost = $125
- July Late Enrollment Cost = $150
- August Late Enrollment Cost = $175
Classes are priced individually by the teachers. The amount can range based on the subject and grade level taught. For price information on a specific class, please contact us.
Do you offer drop-off?
Yes, we do! Drop-off is available for all ages, however all students are expected to be in class. If your student is on campus during an hour they do not have class, they should either be with a parent or in our Study Hall.
Study Hall is reserved for students over 8 years old. It is monitored by a parent. There is a small fee of $2.50 per hour.
Are parents required to volunteer or teach?
No, parents are not required to volunteer or teach. However, we are a community that relies heavily on our helpers. We understand not all families are in a position to serve, but do encourage supporting our group in that way.
Where are you located?
Classes are held at Northwest Bible Church. This church is implemental to our group. We are so grateful this beautiful church campus is available for our use!
The church is located at the cross section of NW 63rd Street and Tulsa Ave:
6316 N. Tulsa Ave. / Oklahoma City, OK 73112
What happens during the lunch period?
PHA has been blessed with a spacious gym, kitchen, and playground. Lunch periods are broken into two groups:
- Younger Lunch: 12:05-12:30 (for those students primarily enrolled in our elementary classes)
- Older Lunch: 12:30-12:55 (for those students primarily enrolled in our upper grade classes)
During the break, students should remain in the gym, the playground area, or with a parent. Students may not wander around the church during the break or between classes. Designated volunteers will monitor the playground and gym areas.
On Wednesdays, families may join in a group order for pizza from a local restaurant. A menu and pricing will be shared on GroupMe to reference. Please be prepared to pay in cash.
What is GroupMe?
This is a free communication app you may download on your personal device. We will use this tool for sharing class cancellations, schedule changes, security and weather alerts, upcoming events, and other information pertaining to the class day.
For the safety of our families, only members may be on our GroupMe page. If your student goes to PHA and you are not on our GroupMe, please contact us.
Where can I find more information on available classes?
Current courses are listed under “Classes” tab on the top menu. To protect the privacy of our teachers, we do not post contact information on this site. To receive a detailed course description of a specific class, please contact us.
What if we need to drop a class?
Any decisions to change classes after the semester has begun should be discussed directly with your teacher. We are unable to refund any Family Registration Costs after the start date.
What is Opening Session?
Each week on Wednesdays and Fridays, we begin our day at 8:25am with the Opening Session. We gather together for a time of worship, announcements, pledge to the flag, a brief devotional, and prayer.
While this is an optional event, it is our hope to join in fellowship and prayer as we ask the Lord for His blessing on our day. If a student arrives before 8:45am, they should attend the Opening Session, stay with a parent, or have special permission from PHA leadership to help a teacher.
Are there any social events throughout the year?
Yes! Each year we host a Fellowship Meal in the fall and the spring. We also celebrate our students’ hard work at the end of each semester with a program. More opportunities often pop-up throughout the year to gather outside of co-op so be sure to stay informed through GroupMe.
Do you have a graduation ceremony?
Yes! Each year we celebrate our seniors with a May graduation. This is a special event open to PHA families and friends.
